When I started the first Bella Blumer book, Deadly Diamonds, I had no idea that this was going to be a series. I just set out to write the kind of book I like to read. I like murder mysteries with tension, suspense, and obviously, humor---populated with real, relatable characters. You know, people with fears and flaws. Kind of like Colombo or Rockford Files meets Sex in the City. And as much as I enjoy all the stories about young twenty- or thirty-something amateur women sleuths (and I do!), I thought it was time to write a funny cozy mystery about a young fifty-something woman navigating her post-divorce life---as well as saving her neck from a murder rap---all while dealing with the daily drama of twenty-something kids of her own.
