Some of My Favorite Authors and Sites
Here are some links to some of my favorite authors and Facebook pages. This is in no way comprehensive and will likely change with time as I add new favorite authors to my list and my Kindle. If you'd like to be included, please send an email to deniserodgersbooks @ gmail.com.
Amy Metz
I love her mysteries that take place in Goose Pimple Junction. She is also very generous with practical hints and tips for other authors.
Stephanie Bond
I first read her Two Guys mystery book. Was disappointed there was no sequel, but... have been enjoying her Body Movers series since
then.
Denise Swanson
What can I say? I'm a huge Skye Denison fan! Have also read one of her Devereau Dime Store series.
Janet Evanovich
I became interested in her series (and in writing a mystery) after reading her "How I Write" while on vacation in Toronto, Canada. Love Stephanie Plum, but I gave up when she couldn't choose between Joe Morelli and Ranger. Still feel I owe this author a lot!
Earlene Fowler
Love Benni Harper! She's feisty and annoying, and I really don't like her husband... But somehow, I get caught up in the narrative. I've read every one of this series and a few of her non-series books. Wonderful writer!
Bob Moats
A fellow Detroit-based author of fun-to-read crime novels. Love seeing the familiar site in my mind while reading.
Hallie Ephron
Recently read her "Night, Night, Sleep Tight"... twice. It was so good I had to start over from the beginning and read it a second time. I'm not always moved this way.
Leslie Meier
Author of the Lucy Stone series, which does progress through time. Refreshing after all the series that seem stalled in the protagonists' late 20s or early 30s. Have read a few of the series and enjoyed them all.
Laura Levine
Author of the Jaine Austen series. Funny and light, I read one after the other like chocolate candy.
Louise Penny
I've read everyone of her Inspector Gamache books. Read and get transported to another universe. Highly recommended.
Get Cozy with a Cozy Mystery
A fun Facebook site where authors and readers can pick up new info about cozy mystery books.
You know you're from Royal Oak
Bella Blumer and friends reside in or near Royal Oak, Michigan, with a delightful downtown and great proximity to greater metropolitan Detroit. I live near the city myself, and love this Facebook page that feature nostalgic and fun posts about the city.
